HBW Cares About Community: Giving, Sharing, Caring, Q2 2017

For many years, HBW has been actively involved in the local coastal community. Ernie Beffel, the firm's Managing Partner notes, "... we care deeply about the communities in which we live and work." This year is no different, and the HBW team is more active than ever. As the second quarter of 2017 is upon us, the firm has elected to support four important organizations.

HBW team members will participate in The HEAL Project's Farm Fridays, which take place every Friday (May to December) from 9am to 4pm in Half Moon Bay. The event involves harvesting fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers for students to sell at the local Farmers Market. Our firm also actively supports the California State Parks Foundation, an organization dedicated to protecting, improving and advocating for all California state parks. HBW team members will serve as volunteers on projects that are designed to help improve the quality, safety and preservation of our state parks.

In May, the firm was also involved in the Stanford Blood Center Blood Drive, as well as Coastside Gives, sponsored by the Mavericks Coastside Foundation to raise funds for local non-profit organizations serving the community.

In addition, we are proud to announce that Jaclynn Garcia, a Docketing Specialist in our Half Moon Bay office, will serve as Chair of our HBW Cares about Community initiative! In accepting the position, Jaclynn noted that she "... enjoys working for a law firm that actually takes a consistently active interest in the communities in which we live and work." She continued, "... a major component of feeling like you make a difference happens not only in the office, but also by giving back to the community."
